Lost in the World of Music
Journal Entry: Sun Aug 31, 2008, 9:49 PM
A little while ago I stopped buying CD's and threw away my speakers on my computer. I had a problem. My imagination is my life. And music is an enabler you could say. I find it easy to imagine my life and difficult to live it. With music I could waste away an entire day lost in some imagined story inspired by the music I was listening to that day.
I am easily distracted and have a difficult time sitting still long enough to get much sculpting done. With music it was nearly impossible.
Like I said earlier I stopped buying CD's, threw away my speakers, gave away my mp3 player. and for a while I was doing great. I got a lot done. Eventually it didn't matter I still ended up getting back to where I couldn't concentrate. I did not go back to music until I met a guy. He plays guitar and has a lot of music. He loves music. So we would listen to music he liked at his place. It reminded me of how much I love music. I started listening to my music again.
Really I never quit music at all. In spite of what I did to try and get rid of the music I still sing every time I drive. I sing quietly at work when no one is around, or when I think I can be quiet enough so the people who are around can't hear me well.
I think instead of quitting music I should write out the stories my mind plays when I hear certain songs. If I'm writing these stories I'm still being productive. I'm not sculpting but writing is good too.
I had another idea on being able to sculpt while listening to music. I think it would work if I was sculpting and listening to music in a public place. If people were watching me I'd keep sculpting even with the music playing. Maybe anyway. It's something to try. All I know is I love music to much and I can't give it up.
Thank you Choad for reminding me.

I love my gay male friends, but when I was a little girl I always wished that I would be surrounded by gorgeous guys and I am, and I should have been more specific.
